Come talk with the artist and writer Gary Zhexi Zhang about video installation, software arts, film, and catastrophic times! He is currently completing a book called Catastrophe Time!, a collection of fictions, essays, and interviews about financial fictions, weird temporalities, and catastrophes. His recent solo exhibition, 'Cycle 25', documented events that shape the boundaries between speculative belief and the material world.

Monika Lin will lead an excursion to a selection of small galleries tucked away in Shanghai lanes. The excursion will include seeing contemporary art, informal talks by gallery directors, and activities in the context of “site” and the Shanghai contemporary art scene. Visits to three galleries will be followed by conversation and reflection during dinner at the well-loved Hunan Country Cuisine restaurant.
